Mr Le received the honour for service to the community in South Australia, particularly through roles contributing to the enhancement of a multicultural society. The honour, the second highest in the Australian honours system, was conferred on Australia Day 2010.

Mr Le said he was humbled and extremely honoured to be awarded an AO.

“I see this award as recognising not just my efforts, but also those of everyone who has helped make Australia a cohesive and harmonious society,” he said.

“I have merely continued the fine work of generations of others.”
