Multicultural SA launches Honorary Consuls Service

Multicultural S.A. has launched a service to Honorary Consuls based in South Australia, as a way of promoting migration and stronger links between our State and other countries.

Inviting Honorary Consuls to use this service, Mr Hieu Van Le, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia and Chairman, South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission, said:

"A hallmark of our South Australian society is the social harmony that exists in our community. This is remarkable, given that there are more than 200 different nationalities represented, and more than 200 languages spoken in our State. The many Honorary Consuls based in South Australia are a vital element in this story of successful migration, settlement and integration."

To assist the honorary consuls in their valuable work, the Multicultural S.A. provides:

  • a serviced office entailing some word processing, limited photocopying and some general Executive Assistant support;

  • a hard correspondence collection system allowing Honorary Consuls to nominate 24 Flinders Street, Adelaide as their address, and to personally collect mail from 24 Flinders Street;

  • a soft correspondence collection system allowing Honorary Consuls to nominate multiculturalsa@saugov.sa.gov.au as an email address

  • an executive serviced meeting room allowing the guests of an Honorary Consul to be greeted by an Executive Assistant for a meeting arranged at 24 Flinders Street.
