The Governor's Multicultural Awards for 2008 were presented at Government House on Thursday 20 November 2008, by His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, Governor of South Australia.
More than 100 people attended the ceremony, which included presentation of Certificates to 29 finalists and stunning handblown glass trophies to the six Award Winners. Click here for the media release. Click here for the Winner Citations.
In presenting the awards, His Excellency thanked the Lieutenant Governor of South Australia and Chairman of the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission, Mr Hieu Van Le, for suggesting the Awards to him. He also thanked the Multicultural Communities Council for the support and advice it provided in the past year. And he thanked the judges:
