Migration Services   - ARA

Migration seminars and information sessions

Run by Registered migration Agents to provide general advice about Australia’s visa system, visa categories and requirements and the role and responsibilities of sponsors and proposers. These sessions are for humanitarian entrants and other migrants with a Centrelink healthcare card.

Migration support, advice and application assistance

Registered Migration Agents offer advice and assistance about migration, proposing or sponsoring family members to settle in Australia, visa applications, visa conditions, appeals and citizenship.

This service is available for all community members. Most humanitarian entrants and migrants with a Centrelink healthcare card are entitled to a free appointment.

Visa Applications

Subject to a merit and disadvantage test, the Legal services Commission  may be able to help people with visa applications who:

• are in Australia and want to apply for permanent residence
• want to sponsor partners and other family members to migrate to Australia
• were sponsored by their partner and the relationship has ended for reasons including domestic violence
• have been told their visa may be cancelled on character grounds, or
• are in detention and have been referred to us by DIAC because they are seeking asylum
