Stamatiki was born in Australia from Greek parents who migrated to Australia in the 1960s.
As a second generation Greek-Australian she has been actively involved in promoting Hellenic culture through her involvement with Festival Hellenika, an annual event in Adelaide from February to May which aims to celebrate Hellenic connections to mainstream art in South Australia.
Stamatiki has graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Science and is currently employed as a Medical Researcher at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
She speaks English, Greek and French, and she has been involved in organising the International Conference for Modern Greek Research in the Department of Languages at Flinders University.
Stamatiki has also been teaching Greek at ethnic schools in Adelaide since 1999.
