About us

Multicultural SA is the agency responsible for advising the Government on all matters relating to multicultural and ethnic affairs in South Australia.

Multicultural SA works to achieve an inclusive, cohesive and equitable multicultural society, where all our communities are valued and supported, so that they can become full participants in our society.

Multicultural SA includes the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission (SAMEAC), which consists of up to 15 members nominated by the Minister for Multicultural Affairs.

The roles and functions of Multicultural SA are in keeping with those outlined in the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission Act 1980.

To achieve an open, inclusive, cohesive and equitable multicultural society, where cultural, linguistic, religious and productive diversity is understood, valued and supported.

SAMEAC is a statutory body whose members are nominated by the Minister for Multicultural Affairs to Cabinet and appointed by the Governor.
