Adult Migrant English Program
TAFE SA English Language Services (ELS) delivers the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) across South Australia. This is the Australian Government's nation-wide English language program. Classes at ELS are full-time or part-time, day or evening. In addition, students can study by Distance Learning, privately with e-learning modules or with a volunteer home tutor who visits for two hours per week.
Humanitarian entrants and migrants aged 18 years and above with less than 'functional English' may be eligible for this program. Check eligibility at TAFE SA English Language Services, Level 5, 127 Rundle Mall, Adelaide. Run by TAFE SA English Language Services.

Intensive English language education
Intensive English language and orientation to South Australian schooling. For young humanitarian entrants without proficient English, and/or without continuous schooling experience. Support to learn English.
Interpreting and Translating Centre (ITC)
Provides fee-based 24-hour interpreting and translating services in approximately 140 languages and dialects, including:
- Business, face-to-face and telephone interpreting
- Translation from English or into English
- Checking, editing and proof-reading of Translations
- Certified Translations
- Type-setting and a range of other services.
Kilburn Community Centre
English classes and ethnic schools (Turkish, Swahili), for those living in Kilburn, Blair Athol and surrounding areas. Run by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.

Learn English online
Free online tool to assist learning English, including games, stories, listening activities and grammar exercises.
Libraries provide a variety of resources in a range of languages, including free access to the internet, free lending of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs, and programs for children and adults.
A number of libraries offer English language and literary services for adult migrants from non-English speaking countries or adult literacy students. This includes online access to the Road to IELTS (International English Language Testing System) preparation course to help candidates prepare for their IELTS exams.

Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS)
An interpreting service for people who do not speak English and for the English speakers who need to communicate with them. It provides immediate telephone interpreting services, as well as pre-booked telephone and on-site interpreting.
