Women's Leadership Program
Multicultural SA is pleased to announce that it will once again be providing a Women’s Leadership Course in 2017!
Applications are now open.
The Women's Leadership Course is an initiative of Multicultural SA in partnership with the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission and TAFE SA. It is funded by Multicultural SA and subsidised by the Department of State Development.
What is it?
The Women’s Leadership Course is a 10-month course delivered by TAFE SA. Participants graduate with a nationally-recognised qualification, the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management. The Course delivers this qualification in a unique way, tailoring the course material and student assessments to take into account the knowledge, skills, experiences and qualities that women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds bring to leadership roles, and the challenges that women sometimes face as leaders.
This course builds knowledge and skills required to take on leadership positions, and participants gain a sense of confidence and empowerment to take on new challenges.
Who should apply?
The Women’s Leadership Course is for women who are already in – or are well placed to be in – leadership or supervisory roles. This could be within a workplace, community organisation or multicultural community group.
Women applying to take part in this course will have aspirations to become strong, confident leaders, and they may be interested in joining governance boards or other committees.
They will benefit from additional training and a management focus, to help them progress into leadership roles and/or to take on higher duties.
- must be in leadership roles at work or in their community, or aspire to move into leadership roles
- are encouraged to have involvement with a community organisation or club
- must be employed either full or part time (to meet course requirements)
- must be bicultural or bilingual
- must be proficient in verbal and written English
Due to the course funding structure, women on some Visa types will be ineligible to take part, as will women who have already accessed WorkReady funding since 2015. To discuss your particular circumstances, call 8207 0751 or email email@example.com.
When is it?
The course is delivered over a 10-month period from late February to December 2017.
Participants must commit to attending weekly 4-hour classroom sessions on Friday mornings at the Adelaide City Campus of TAFE SA (120 Currie Street, Adelaide).
Class dates are to be confirmed but are likely to fall in usual TAFE SA 2017 term dates:
