2018 Multicultural Women's Leadership Course

Multicultural SA and TAFE SA are pleased to announce that the Women’s Leadership Course will be offered once again in 2018!

What is it?

The Women’s Leadership Course is a 10 month-course delivered by TAFE SA for women already in – or who are well placed to be in leadership or supervisory roles in workplaces, community organisations or multicultural community groups.

Participants graduate with a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, a nationally-recognised qualification. The course is tailored to recognise and harness the unique knowledge, skills, experiences and qualities of women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The Women’s Leadership Course helps women tackle the challenges they sometimes face as leaders, builds confidence and empowers them to take on leadership positions.

Who should apply?

The Women’s Leadership Course is for women who are already in - or are well placed to be in - leadership or supervisory roles. This could be within a workplace, community organisation or multicultural community group.


  • must be in leadership roles at work or in their community, or aspire to a leadership role
  • are encouraged to be involved with a community organisation or club
  • must be employed either full or part time (to meet course requirements)
  • must be bicultural or bilingual, and proficient in verbal and written English

Due to the course funding structure, women who have already accessed WorkReady funding since 2015 or who are on particular visa types will be ineligible for the course.

When is the course?

The course runs from late February to December 2018. Participants must commit to attending weekly 4-hour classroom sessions on Friday mornings at the Adelaide City Campus of TAFE SA (120 Currie Street, Adelaide).

Class dates are to be confirmed but are likely to fall in the TAFE SA 2018 term dates:

  • Term 1:  29 January to 13 April
  • Term 2:  30 April to 6 July
  • Term 3:  23 July to 28 September
  • Term 4:  15 October to 14 December

How much is it?

The course is free for successful 16 participants.

Complete the Expression of Interest Form and send to:

  • Women's Leadership Course 2018, Multicultural SA, Level 8 Riverside Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide SA 5001.

If you are currently working and require special leave to attend lectures, your application must include a letter of support from your employer. The letter should endorse your application and approve study leave every Friday.
