Multicultural SA supports International Women's Day |

Women from all ages and backgrounds were among more than 600 people who attended the International Women's Day Luncheon on 7 March 2008.
The Lieutenant Governor of South Australia and Chairman of the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission, Hieu Van Le, hosted several tables of women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Mr Le presented certificates to the winner and finalists in the annual Irene Krastev Awards, organised by the Migrant Women's Lobby Group, as part of the Luncheon, which was also attended by His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce, Governor of South Australia.
Greek-background health worker Angela Prodromou was declared winner of the Irene Krastev Award for a woman from diverse cultural and linguistic background who has made an outstanding contribution to the community. Finalists were Latvian-background Biruta Irbe, Philippines-born Cholly Winter, Sudanese refugee Victoria Achut and Vietnamese-background Tiffany Chung.
