Multicultural Forum

Multiculturalism in Canada and in South Australia were the topics of a South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission (SAMEAC) Multicultural Forum breakfast attended by more than 100 eminent South Australians.

The Hon. Gary Doer, the Premier of the Province of Manitoba and the Hon. Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, Minister for International Relations and Minister Responsible for La Francophonie in Quebec, spoke eloquently about cultural diversity in their country and its positive benefits.

The breakfast forum was an opportunity for senior decision-makers in government and the community to appreciate the value of multiculturalism.

The forum attracted several members of Cabinet, Chief Executives of South Australian Government Departments, members of the judiciary including the Chief Justice, His Honour John Doyle, mayors and other local government representatives and community leaders.

Lieutenant Governor and SAMEAC Chairman Hieu Van Le said the forum was an opportunity to emphasize the importance of multiculturalism to influential people in South Australia.
